Management Committee Members
LIST OF COMMITTEE MEMBERS AS AT 17th SEPTEMBER 2007
Gordon Mason (Chairperson)
Gordon has served on the Committee for more than five years and, as a Tenant Assessor with Communities Scotland, he helps to examine the quality of services provided by other social landlords from a tenant’s point of view.
Gordon is currently Vice Chair of TPAS Scotland (Tenant Participation Advisory Service) where he has chaired the Finance Sub-group of TPAS Scotland for the last 3 years.
John R Holliday (Vice Chairperson)
John has served on Forth’s Management Committee for over 10 years. He was a Bridge of Allan Councillor for 8 years and an active member of the Planning Committee, Stirling Council during this period.
With a career spanning 45 years in the electronics industry he has experience in service, systems design, production, project planning, training and quality assurance. From 1984 he worked as a Software Quality Assurance Consultant, retiring in 2008.
John Fyfe (Secretary)
With 30 years experience as former managing director of a firm of consulting engineers, John brings extensive professional and business experience to the Association.
He also has a thorough knowledge of Committee work and, as well as serving on the Association's Committee for several years, he has been a member of Cambusbarron Community Council for 8 years.
Thomas Bell (Treasurer)
As a resident in the Stirling area for over 35 years, Thomas has a wide knowledge of the local community. Through his work on the Association’s Committee, Thomas hopes to improve the standard of housing for tenants.
Thomas also has knowledge of the building trade, experience as a shop steward and in dealing with members of the public.
Neil MacLeod
Neil is a Learning & Development Adviser with the Scottish Social Services Council. He has good all round knowledge of voluntary sector issues and is experienced in human resources, training and development and governance.
Neil’s skills include disseminating complex information, writing articles and IT.
Wilma Burns
Wilma has served on Forth’s Management Committee for over 5 years. She has a broad knowledge of the local community and has served as a member of her local community council.
She has been an active member of the local Mercatcross and Bruce Credit Unions for more than 10 years. This has given her an understanding of the problems facing families on low incomes and debt issues.
Linda Mason
Linda has served on Forth’s Management Committee for more than 5 years and has gained a qualification in housing.
She has developed skills in public speaking through her experience of being a course leader for a self-management group and for the last three years she has been transport co-ordinator for the Multiple Sclerosis Society in Falkirk. She has a broad knowledge and understanding of the local community.
Audrey Anderson
Audrey has worked in housing for more than 20 years and has a great breadth of experience in housing management. She is committed to the provision of affordable housing and high quality services. She has a qualification in housing and is currently studying psychology at University.
Audrey was co-opted to the Management Committee following the Annual General Meeting in 2007.
Harry Deerin
Harry, who was co-opted to the Committee in October 2007, has more than 30 years experience working for local authorities.
As former Director of Environmental Services, he has experience in finance, including the preparation, monitoring and spend of large budgets.
He is active in several voluntary organisations and served on the Board of Housing Stirling for 2.5 years.
Clark Davidson
Clark was invited by committee to fill a casual vacancy in April 2008.
He has a vast experience, of housing related finance, as he works as a finance consultant to a number of housing associations and co-op’s. With more than 30 years experience he hopes to be able to use his knowledge to help Forth, in this important area of work.
Councillor Jim Thomson
Jim represents Stirling Council on Forth’s management committee and was appointed in April 2008.
He has a strong interest in housing matters and believes in the rights of the individual within the concept of community. He also has a deep passion for Stirling Town, its people, its history and its future.
