Transition Stirling - Free Food, Tools, Repair Service and Workshops!
Transition Stirling are best known for their Tool Library, where customers can borrow tools, cooking equipment, biking equipment, gardening tools and much more on one week loans. The cost for a year membership varies and they suggest a donation of £30 for a year but if you can't afford that it isn't a problem and you pay what you can, if anything. https://www.transitionstirling.org.uk/the-tool-library
They also host a variety of workshops including furniture upcycling, food foraging, cooking and baking workshops and much more. They also host Film Screenings. These are again all donation based.

Another service they offer is a cost effective repair service. They’ve fixed all sorts of things including toys, sewing machines, lamps, clocks, radios, hair straighteners, garden tools, hifi systems and Christmas decorations. They will attempt to repair most items including small electrical items however, we cannot repair clothing (though we can at Repair Cafés) or large electrical items such as white goods.

Finally, their other main project at the moment is the Community Fridge. Instead of large supermarkets putting large volumes of excess and near-sell-by-date food in the bin, the Community Fridge offers the food to everyone in the community for free. Although it is described as a fridge, many fresh bakery goods and frozen foods can also be collected. Food is currently being sourced from the Stirling branches of Marks & Spencer, Sainsbury’s, Tesco, Aldi, Lidl and Morrisons. The Kitchen at 44 King Street, where the Community Fridge is based, is open every day from 11.30am to 1pm. Available to all and everyone welcome! https://www.transitionstirling.org.uk/community-fridge
