Who is Forth Housing Association?
Forth Housing Association is a not-for-profit local housing provider, which is a "Registered Social Landlord" with the Scottish Executives Social Housing Regulator and a registered Scottish Charity.
The Association's origins date back to 1987 when a steering group called Stirling Single Housing Group was established with the aim of increasing the provision of housing for single people in the Stirling area. Since formal registration in 1988 Forth has continued to take on new challenges, managing 514 houses and flats for rent and shared ownership.
Forth's future development programme includes the Raploch Regeneration Project area of Stirling where the Association's new stock will be an additional 250 homes for social rent and low cost home ownership. Forth is also working with a number of private developers to provide social rented properties on private residential sites in different areas of Stirling. This is a requirement of Stirling Council's Affordable Housing Policy.
Forth Housing Association is a member of the Scottish Federation of Housing Associations and shares the aims of the membership.
This is to address the housing problems of those in greatest need, by providing affordable housing for rent and empowering tenants and local communities to play a more direct role in the provision and control of their housing.
Forth currently employs 13 members of staff, 11 full time and 2 part time. The Association is also a member of Employers in Voluntary Housing and SHARE.
