Forth Housing Association Marks Completion of 24 New Homes in Cornton, Stirling.
We have welcomed the completion of our new housing development at Johnston Avenue, Cornton, Stirling. The handover of this development in Cornton sets the seal on our continued commitment to the redevelopment of this priority regeneration area.
The 24 homes which are all for social rent were built with a Scottish Government grant of £2.5 million and private funding of £1.6 million. Sharon Brady-Wardrope, our Interim Director said: “We are delighted to have worked in partnership with Stirling Council and the Scottish Government to meet the need for high quality affordable social housing and without their support the project would not have been possible.
We continue to seek opportunities to meet the ever-increasing demand for quality social housing in the area we service and have a further 2 developments on site which will complete next year to help to meet this demand.”
Our tenants are delighted with their new homes and one tenant who recently moved in said: “Having a room for my baby means the world to me. This home gives me stability – I love seeing my baby in her new room.”
Our official opening ceremony took place on Thursday the 8th of December, marking the completion of the project and Ann Dickson, Chairperson said: “I would like to express our most sincere thanks to Cruden Building and the design team for delivery of these homes on schedule and on budget through what was a very challenging period due to covid. It is very rewarding for our Management Committee to see first hand how our tenants are benefiting from these well insulated homes especially during the current economic climate.”
